Hello like you i live in the uk and have ms , i do have my blue badges. It is rediculos and i know exactly what you mean although i was diagnosed 9 years ago i could never get help until one day i was in surgery and my doctor asked me if i had to pay for my prescriptions i told her yes , she then told me to claim dla which i did she filled out my forms and the rest followed i got my blue badge ,that was 2 years ago , so i would go and talk to your own doctor. Good luck and let me know how you get on. Then once you get them as you are still young and we dont show a disability whilst sitting behind the wheel the fun will start, you get people aproach you to tell you that you cant park here it ts quiet funny when you then get out of your car to see the look on there faces , im not sure if they think i am walking like a drunk or if they actually do realise any way it shuts them up. Let me know howyou got on

Thannks for your reply, i guess its just hard waiting enough to know whats wrong without other people questioning you too, but they dont know me from adam so i know its not personal!! its just odd how my friend got hers and i have to go for a assement and she is so much more mobile then me but it was a different district so maybe thats why.
I think its a good idea to ask they doctor they never asked mine about anything but instead are sending me to a local independent walking assement unit. oh well i pray the appointment will come back soon.
Thanks
They have made it tougher these past couple of years to get a handicapped parking permit here in the US, also. But in my state, they ask your doctor to certify that you have certain walking or breathing difficulties. It is not so much based on the diagnosis, but the actual physical difficulties of the applicant. If the doctor certifies that you do fit the state's criteria, then you can qualify for the permit. Of course, if the doctor is falsifying the information, they can get into really big trouble and lose their ability to certify any of his/her patients. Just thought I would let you know.
Good luck!
