Mother's Day

First of all Happy Mother's Day to all.  I got my gift early and those of you that know me well are gonna be just as happy as I was when I tell you what I got.

My husband walked in with a brand spankin new Zebco rod and reel. whoohoo!  That's not even the best part.  Then, him, Jake, Lacey, Makenzie, Zach, and myself went to the creek and spent the whole day.  Rob had my lawn chair set up on the bank, I had my worms, and tackle box on one side, and my snacks, wipes, and water bottle on the other.  I only caught one fish the whole day but this was the first time I've been in 4 years and I had the time of my life.

Like I said those of you that know me know that this is one of the things I've talked about missing the most.  When the day was over I hugged my family and told them thank you, I love you, and if I died tonight this has been at the top of my list of most wonderful days in my life.  I'm still so excited about the day that I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight.

Some bad news right now:  I'm watching my local news and there has been a terrible tornado not too long from my town, that has pretty much leveled the town.  Right now they have confirmed 6 deaths.  There have been 3 other tornado's just south and east of us that has fatalities also.  Please take a moment to pray for these people.  It's absolutely horrible with the devastation they are showing.  They are saying the town is locked down and there will more than likely be more fatalities to report on later.  Oh dear Lord we just never know.  I'm sorry but this has sorta taken the wind out of my sails.  I know people in Pitcher, Oklahoma where the tornado struck.  This town is just north west of Colcord where I'm from.

I'll be praying,
Carol

When you creek fish you keep just about everything you catch.  We had a couple of brown bass, goggle eye, blue gill, and a few other perch.  I caught 1 fish the whole day and it was a little perch that wasn't even a keeper but I didn't even care.  Just being out there all day with my family and new fishing pole was all that mattered.

To me this is what life is all about.  Spending time with your family doing something you absolutely love and not having a care in the world.  What a glorious day it was.  Where I had my lawn chair I could see my husband and son fishing up a little ways behind me and then my daughter-in-law, youngest son, and grand baby down the creek a little ways swimming. ( they fished a while and played a while) My arms and wrist are sore today from casting and reeling, I guess that's why, but I don't even care.  I woke up this morning with a smile on my face thinking of the day I had had.  Even the aches and pains that I have when I first get out of bed didn't seem quite so bad this morning.  I don't think anything can make me sad today.

So many times I forget about what I have and instead worry about what I don't have or what I want.  That's not what life should be about.  Even though every day is a struggle for most of us we should still look up and thank it is whoever we each thank, for me it's the Lord, and just be happy we are alive.  We all have something to be thankful for.

Bless all of you and thank you for allowing me to share a very special day with all of you.  That even made it better.  Ya'll have helped me in so many ways and in a way it has been this group of people that helped me through a very depressing time in my life.  I love and pray for ya'll daily.  Thank you so much.

I'll be praying,
Carol

What a wonderful Mother's Day!  I'm very happy for you; sounds like your family is the best!  They love you a whole bunch; that's real obvious!

Happy Mother's Day from me, too.

I love the outdoors, though my fishing was limited to trolling for rainbow trout out of my Dad's little boat.  I can still smell the lake, and feel the excitement of getting a hit on my line.

I've been praying for the torndo victims, too.

Stay safe,

Kathy

I'm so happy you had such a wonderful day. Truly a gift from God.With all your angels helping him. Did you keep the fish? I'm su happy you are doing better. Try to rest tonight, even if you don't sleep. You need it.

I, too, saw about the tornados. It's truly been an awful year. I hope help gets to the survivors fast. You take care             Maggie
