anyone want to look at MRI pictures?

I posted a couple on my medhellp page; tried to post a saggital T2 that showed a whole bunch of lesions, too, but some software I had just did the coronal twice, so I gave up.

The first one is because I'm curious about how lesions are measured.  Any ideas?  I have a feeling mine are all too small to "count", but will see what my new MS specialist :o)  says about it.

The second one was from the one enhanced series they took; oh, and the report said w/wo paramagnetic contrast.  Is that the same thing as gadolinium (sp?)?  Nothing enhanced.  Is it normal for them to do the entire MRI, but the contrast in, and immediatedly run one two and a half minute scan?  How can that show if anything in the whole brain is enhancing?  Just thought I'd ask.

My other question if for those of you dealing with eye issues, you know, the real experts that have had to educate themselves?  Well, I was curious if the black dot behind my left eye on the optic nerve or whatever that is (sorry!) is a normal variant, or is something of concern.  My left eye has been kind of drifting out, which probably is where a lot of my blurry vision comes from.  I still am having some issue with jittery vision, too.  I haven't heard back from my ophthamologist, so I thought I'd ask my online medical team!  LOL!

Thanks for any input!

It's not easy posting those scans!  What I do, is click on a little box in the lower right hand corner of the picture, then go up to the file menu, select Export, then to image, then save it to my computer, using a name easy to recognize.

I then go view the picture, and crop it so some of my personal information is taken off, then save it as a new picture, like "Katsbrain2"

Then at my medhelp page, I browse for photos, and the scan that I just saved shows up as a New Document, so I select Katsbrain2, then hit upload photo.

I think I covered all the steps.  Of course, it may be different if your MRI is done with different software.  See if that helps any.

The question about my lesions, I guess, is if they are large enough and located in the right areas.

The radiologist didn't mention the speck, so I figured it wasn't much, but I also heard that he's been in a foul mood lately, and he may have not seen on the orders that I've been experiencing visual changes, and may not have looked as closely.  That wouldn't be very professional, but he's only human.  Then again, the speck is probably nothing.

Cool, the new batteries in the wireless keyboard make it possible for me to type again!

I'll be back after a late lunch,

Kathy

I can't say anything intelligent about anyone's MRIs, including my own, so I won't even try. I like the pix of Fluffy better!

I've read about MRI magnets as strong as 12T, and 7Ts are in use in a number of places, so how harmful they might be I don't know. Maybe Quix will chime in here.

You don't need to risk anything , you've got plenty of evidence, and your MRI wasn't even on a 3T..  great pics !   So sorry I don't know what they mean. Do you have the report yet?   I saw the black thingy , and don't have a clue about that either, other than to say that some of my scans had little black specks and no one has ever said anything   ???

I wish I could figure out how you all are posting your scans .  I've tried and failed :)

Yes  Z ,  that was disgusting .   If we all gave Z. just one each     Would that be more disgusting .  :)    I know how frustrated you must be . Hang tough

You can have some of my lesions if you want!

Hey, the teaching hospital by me has a 5 Tesla MRI; I wonder if lesions would show up in your brain with something like that?  Elaine's Craig said that he thinks that a MRI with that strong of magnetic pull would be hard on the body at a cellular level.  Sometimes I think I'd like to risk it if it would give a more clear picture of what's going on with me.

At least my next MRI should be on a 3T and following MS protocol, I would think, if my MS specialist (I love saying that) should order another one. Dang, neednew battriesfor wireles keybbbbbbbbboard, be back lllllllllllater

Hi!

My, what a lot of lesions you have!  And I wish I knew what in tarnation it all meant!  I truly do!!!

I looked with great interest at your images.  This is probably the most putrid thing I've ever typed out on this forum:  I'd give a lot to have your MRI.  I would.  Isn't that disgusting?

What I mean is, you have a lot of evidence there -- of what -- I'm not sure at all.  But, it's SOMETHIGN that your docs won't be able to dismiss, and don't let them!

As you may remember -- I don't have one stinking lesion -- completely normal.  Been hospitalized with severe weakness, but nary a lesion.....

Wish I could help more.

Good luck.  And congrats about the specialist!  That's wonderful!!!

Feel well,

Zilla*
