distended belly

Hi everyone and especially to Alex! I pray that you get the answers from someone who will truly take the time you deserve. I'm coming in late and am curious about your distended tummy. What does that look like? I'm asking because I'm going in for exploratory surgery for a supposed hernia on June 1st. I have had a lot of problems with digestion, gas, ( I know, fun, huh?) and distension. When I hear that MS shuts down the systems, what does that mean?

hi, i have MS was diagnosed in 2003, for the past 10 months i have looked 9 months pregnant, my stomach is hard and uncomfortable, ive had xrays, ultra sound, barium anenema etc, nothing was found. i live in England and the doctors and specialists i have seen don't have an answer, so now they are sending me to London to the TOP people to see if they can come up with anything, any advice or help from anyone would be greatfully received

There are many reasons for distended abdomen and a Doctor really needs to figure it out. Sounds like your Doctor is doing the right thing for you.

In my case they are not sure yet what is going on. Not everything that happens is MS. My body never does anything simply. It will probably take more investigation to figure out what is going on. Meanwhile they gave me an antibiotic for my gut, gave me a specific diet and some do's and don'ts. Some things I was doing was making things worse. This is where a Doctor comes in.
