Interferons & Paresthesia

Aloha! I have a question/concern, maybe someone can help my concern. One of my main symptoms is paresthesia. I am on avonex and I take the shots early in the evening and it doesn't matter what I do I am woken in the middle of the night with the paresthesia pains. They are all over and it seems to attack my hands and feet the most. I constantly have numbness in my hands & feet and am afraid these weekly shot effects could be disabling more.  I take tylenol before the shot than when woken in the middle of the night I take more. I'm taking Gabapentin for it and my Dr just prescribed Nortryptiline
Thank you in advance
Karrie

Welcome Karrie!

How long have you had the parathesia and pain? The DMDs should not cause this - but the disease does.

I was prescribed lyrica for it ( I had burning too), but I chose not to take it. Not sure if that was the right thing to do, as it took months to simmer to  "tolerable."

Giving this a bump to see if others would like to share what they are using.

I have the exact same problem I have been on Copaxone and recently changed over to Rebif (Interferon) and the problem has only gotten worse. It wakes me several times a night. I also take 600 mg of Gabapentin 5x daily. It doesn't seem to help. I am beginning to think that the medicine is as bad as the disease it is so frustrating! If you discover anything that helps please let me know as I will you. Good Luck- JG
