Hi I'm Linda. 28, diagnosed recently after lost sensation right side of bottom and down legs into feet. On gabapentin, 1800mg a day!! Was on oral steroids which cleared up numbness. Now IV taken numbness in both legs below knee but worse in left leg. Actually feels swollen and above knee burning :( stomach feels numb too :( do I need another dose of steroids?

I got steroids!! Getting a bit better thank God :) also had physicio out today to see me.

I am very sorry to hear about your diagnosis and ectopic pregnancy. I am glad you are here as this is a wonderful community filled with a multitude of kind, knowledgeable people.

My IV infusion and 2 week taper were prescribed by my neuro. Call their office and advise.

I was diagnosed 3rd July this year after I'd suffered an ectopic pregnancy. Been rough few months. Was on steroids for three weeks. Rang my 's nurse and she said rest. I'd prefer steroids!! Can my gp give me them or does he have to go through ms nurse?

Hi,

I go on steroids every 4-5 months. A dose pack. They help tremendously. I get very fatigued as well. I was just a bit confused with the MRI results. Was wondering if it meant I didn't have MS? Are those actual findings of MS on an MRI?

Steroids are used to bring down inflammation. Have they offered you a Disease Modifying Drug to slow the progression of MS? How long ago were you on steroids? Your Doctor is the best person to make the determination of whether you should go back on steroids. Each case of MS is different there are no hard and fast rules.
