I'm not really a member of this group but I am currently 22 and just recently went through something similar and my doctor and I came to the decision that it was just a different recurrence of something i had when i was too young to remember but it is called a granuloma and is completely benign but can be pretty scary if you don't know what it is. The only reason my doctor and i came up with that is because my mom tormented it. There are also other forms that can develop later in life too.
I wear my magnifying glasses and sunglasses on thop of my head. After doing this for years the soft tissue on top of my head has formed indentations on top. Especially in the area where the cut out for the nose is located. I now have a definite lump in that area and a couple dips around the lens area. It feels strange but causes me no problems and no hairloss. Just surprised out easy to change the shape of my head after 40 years!
Haven't finished reading all the pages yet but as irony would ave it, my name is Sam! ( nickname). Just woke up yesterday w/ two pencil eraser size dents w/ a ridge in between.Or it feels like a teenie ridge in comparison to the 'dents'. Recently 65 and have experienced a lot of hair loss recently. Would loooove to hear of follow ups to earlier reports.
I noticed a dent in my head yesterday. Maybe an inch long, fairly narrow. I am 47, wear glasses on my head too. The dent, or ridge, is on the front of my head, not too far back from my hairline. As soon as I noticed the thing, I freaked and did a bing search. This forum was the first thing I found. I will take advice re calcium and no more glasses on the head and will see what happens. It is very unpleasant to find such a thing just appear out of the blue and this place is at least a comfort, knowing there are many others out there with the same symptoms. When I see my doctor in a few months I will ask him about it. Will update if I discover anything new or if the dent goes away.
I am a 42 YO woman who has begun menopause or pre menopause and have been experiencing similar issues as the rest of the folks here. I too wear sunglasses on my head every single day, I also have indentations on either side of a center part right about where my glasses sit. I also am not a milk drinker. I have come to the conclusion that since as women, we need to drink milk or add a vitamin D and calcium supplement after the age of twelve to combat Osteoporosis, and most of us wear glasses on our head, that our bones develop softness from lack of calcium over the years and then adding the glasses creates a semi permanent dent. Some may be from arthtritic nodules when ridges are an issue, I was in a car accident some years ago and also developed ridges on the back of my head where arthritis pains me.
Hi iam a 39 year old women and have noticed that I have developed ridges in my head too, I didn't really take any notice but I went to my hairdressers the other day and she to noticed the biggest one I have, and she asked me what it was and had I had an op or something, I found myself lieing and told her I had always had it, but I know for sure I havn't but untill finding this forum, I hadn't come across anyone with the same symptons, I went to my doctors and she told me I had nothing to worry about she thought it was just the way my scalp had developt, even though I told her that I knew I havn't had them for long, she said she was certain that it was nothing to do with having a brain T or anything like that, so not to worry. But I know 100% that I havn't had them since birth. The only thing I could think of that had happened recently was that I got a bad virus which then turned into headaches for several weeks and then they stopped, she told me that if it was anything to worry about the headaches would of got worse not better. so no real answers as to the dents in my head... oh and I also get an itching scalp and sometimes greasy. But Im really glad Im not the only allian on earth lol x
