Migrane ?

Hello, this is my first time to post a question here. Any info you could give me would be appreciated.

I have a history of migranes without the Aura. A few times lately (this usually happens at work) when I bend over I see bright sparkling type lights that only last for a few seconds without a migrane or any type of pain or dizziness. Sometimes this is almost blinding. Also at night when I turn out the lights this will also happen sometimes without bending over.

Could this be associated with my migranes? I did wake up this morning with a mild headache and this did happened to me yesterday. I also have Lupus and take Plaquenil. I have regular eye exams along with visual field tests that have been normal. Also I had an MRI of my head last year that was normal, but this was not going on at the time. I had the MRI because of the migranes.

Thank you very much!!

Dear Gayle:

Sorry to hear about your migraine headaches.  Sometimes we see scintillations when there is a change in central nervous system pressure.  So for example, when we stand-up too fast or sit down too fast we can get visual scintillations.  I think that this is what your experiencing.  Just let your opthalmologist know when you get your next eye exam latter this year or next year.

Sincerely,
