Mysterious Condition

Hello,

First, thank you for taking the time to look over this.  We really appreciate it, and any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.

So, are you looking for a challenge?  Are you looking to solve a mystery?  I really hope so, because our Step-Mother is faced with a medical problem that nobody can seem to solve.  

To give a brief history...
   • Dottie broke her hip and got it replaced about 2 years ago.
   • For about 1 year, she burned from the inside, so badly that my father had to coat her with icebags during the night.
   • Visited many specialists/doctors, and tried numerous medications.
   • One year later, after receiving spinal cord implant, she freezes from the inside, so badly that she lays on numerous heating pads, and pretty much stays in bed.  The pain from the freezing is so bad, that she does not move.
   • Now she is hallucinating.

Thank you so much Dr. Santos.  I will relay this info to my father.  Yes, I don't think the underlying cause has been found yet.  Still looking for that.

Hi,
How are you? One condition that comes to mind is hypothalamic dysfunction  which pertains to problem with the hypothalamus which regulates body temperature. If the underlying cause is not yet identified, further evaluation may need to be done. Seeking other doctor's opinion may indeed beneficial in finding the diagnosis. Take care and best regards.
