what else could it be?For the last weeks the pain is more gentle, not every day and in the last 2 weeks ,almost no pain in the ear.Could be some muscle?Have I see a neurologist?
Thank you!
Thank you very much.I had the pain in march for 2 weeks. It was like a contracture in the right nasophaynx and like constant right ear pain for 2-3 hours in the morning and 1-2 hours in the evening. After that 3 weeks I was pain free and again for 3 hours in a morning I had pain, and again 2 weeks no pain, but the pain return for 2-3 days in the evening, and like that I have weeks without pain, and 2-3 days with some pain, not sharp pain.I had a normal optic fiber endoscopy at ENT doctor,a normal neck ultrasound and a TMJ X-rays,with some signs of right TMJ presure .Glucose is normal.
Hi,
How are you? What other symptoms were present? It is good that the initial MRI was normal. Glossopharyngeal neuralgia, a condition in which there are repeated episodes of severe pain in the tongue, throat, ear, and tonsils, may be diagnosed with the help of blood tests such as sugar level to look for the causes of nerve damage, and imaging studies like CT scan or MRI. To find out whether a blood vessel is pressing on the nerve, pictures of the brain arteries may be taken using Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), CT angiogram or X-rays of the arteries with a dye . If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
