Although I'm not sure if you were trying to post a comment to find someone rather than an actual question to be answered, lightheadedness is a common complaint that can be a symptom of both neurological and non-neurological causes. Routine electrolytes, blood count, and EKG as well as a check up from a primary care doc are a good start. If a neurologic cause is suspected, then a formal neuro exam can help point the physician in the right diagnostic direction in terms of need for studies such as an MRI brain to look for any structural changes, spinal tap to look for infection or pressure change, or EEG to look for seizures. Good luck.
Jaxster,
Some people don't know it but alcohol withdrawal can cause those symptoms. Does he drink and sometimes try to stop?
Drug withdrawal also can cause those same things.
Low blood sugar levels, diabetis etc. Just some thoughts.

Jaxter,
I am sure those symptoms could represent many things. I had those symptoms and was found to have neurocardiogenic syncope and inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Once these were treated I felt so much better.
