I also have the same problem. It is happening every few minutes. But, now it doesn't just happen for a few seconds and only in my head. I can feel the 'electric shock' go down into head, neck, shoulders, chest and back. it is getting a bit scary. Would like to know what is going on, but don't know how to ask a dr. or who to ask. I am on some medications: neurontin, zanaflex, wellbutrin and cymbalta. The neurontin is generally used to stop seizures. I am using it to stop pain from lung surgery. I wonder if it could actually cause a seizure. Idk. any ideas would help.
Hi there.
From the way you have described your symptoms, this may indeed by a nervous system problem. Primary neurologic conditions such as MS or ALS may explain your symptoms but this should be assessed by a neurologist first.
Another possibility is some form of depression. Your symptoms of prolonged sleeping periods and lack of drive is compatible with this diagnosis.
Nutritional deficiencies and electrolyte abnormalities are also possible (especially that of sodium, potassium or magnesium).
Since there are a number of possibilities, I suggest you have yourself evaluated by your doctor. Regards.
