Hey there MethodMan , I have the exact same symptoms as you ., particularly in the groin area . Have you had any relief at all from the physio ? I am an active 46 sportsman and have not been warming up properly before any activity which has brought this on . Any feedback from you would be appreciated .
You may indeed have piriformis syndrome. For some people (about 10% of the general population), the piriformis muscle encases the sciatic nerve, and other nerves in that area. In this situation, any inflammation of the piriformis brought about by stress or chronic pressure can get the nerves compressed causing all the pain and symptoms. This is treated by physical therapy as well as heat or ultrasound treatment (as supervised by a physical therapist). Regards.
