Thanks for your advise in terms of not involving myself with straineous exercises that may induce trauma aggravating the already present syringohydromyelia. I needed a more resolute answers as to what level of exercises should I engage in. For example, Should I continue to use the treadmill, ride the byke, extremely light weight lifting, etc.Or should I quit the gym for good until this condition is addressed

Hello Dear,
Tubular cavitation of the spinal cord, along with associated progressive neurologic symptoms and accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid can lead to simple distention of the central canal of the spinal cord, lined by ependymal cells ie, hydromyelia, or it can dissect into the surrounding white matter to form a paracentral cavity, in which case none of the cavity is lined by ependyma ie, syringomyelia. In many, if not most, cases, both hydromyelia and syringomyelia are present i.e, syringohydromyelia.
Exercises may induce trauma aggravating the disease so it is contraindicated.
