Tingling when nodding

Sometimes when I nod my head forward, I get a tingling sensation in my trunk area.  Sometimes it is severe enough to startle me.  It happens when I am driving, sitting still, walking, and even when I am running.  It has been going on the last several weeks.  Could it be related to a fainting spell I had last March?

I had the same symptom months ago. When I put my head down, I would feel a sensation in my scrotum and it seemed to be aggrivated by sitting. It was intermittent. As it turns out, I got an MRI for an unrelated issue and I was diagnosed with cerivcal stenosis. It explains the infrequent tingling I get in my thumb as well.

I would run it by your doctor. If you have an HMO, you have to be more assertive. I'm just now learning about stenosis

I have the exact same symptoms when I bend my head down.  It is like an electric shock going down your spine sometimes into my legs, arms, etc.  I have had 2 sets of MRI's done and am anticipating the results this week.  I also have a great deal of tingling and numbness in my right arm.  It sure is nice to hear other people with similar symptoms.

I have tried to post a question but have been unsuccessful.  It is always full.  I will keep trying.  Take care!

It;s important to distinguish whether or not the tingling sensation is really an electric sensation that travels down the spine to the trunk area ( which would indicate cervical spinal cord disease) or is it just a funny sensation in your abdomen (which isn't really specific for a neurologic problem.) The problem itself could be a GI problem or cardiac depending on where exactly you feel the tingling.  Talk to your primary care doc about these symtpoms just to make sure everything is ok, especially if it becomes associated with other symptoms or becomes more prominent/worse. Not sure if this is related to your spell, would need more clinical information. GOod luck.

Can you please tell us a bit about Lhermittes when answering this question?  If this was caused by MS, is it likely to show up on C-MRI?
