Dear ajam:

I am not sure.  I have not heard of "candal".  Steriods can be given as an epidural injection.  The most common type of epidural injection is for pregnancy.  Usually there is no injury.  When somesort of injury happens it is usually due to CSF leak, improper placement of the needle into the epidural space, etc.  I think maybe it might be caudal? which just means toward the lower part of the spinal cord.

Sincerely,

CCF Neuro MD

Candal is most likely Caudalepiduralgram. I have had one for a back injury...     Rusti
