Unfortunately there are no films to review, so its difficult to comment on your questions. I'm sorry to hear that your headaches persist.
There can be 'artifacts' on MRI scans from a variety of sources including motion, metallic objects, etc. To an experienced reader, artifacts are usually easily seperated from real findings. Metallic objects on the MRI appear as dark areas obscuring detail for a large area around the object rather than a bright spot. Normally MRI techs will remove all metallic jewelry etc prior to an MRI scan.
A cisternogram is a different type of scan altogether from an MRI scan, although metal objects still need to be removed, and could cause 'artifact'/an artifical black spot (area of decreased radioactive tracer uptake) if not removed.
Good luck
hi I am not sure what saturday night palsy is but I wish you luck in taking care of yourself. As we all need to do go with our gut knowing something is wrong, the only thing we can do is what I am doing seeking help with doctor after doctor.
I have been facing a similar problem for past 15 months. Here the History:
I am 31year man with family. I am happy and enjoy my day to day life with my wife, kid and work.
I have a Saturday Night Palsy and my doctor put me on 24mg Medrol. On the third day of the medication I fanited in my office and from there onwards it got worse. My blood pressure increased and with this came along a series of other problems.
I was on Medrol for a week which was on a decreasing the drug step by step.
Now, after this I have frequent headches, I have diziness and I have some lightness feeling in my legs as well. I have been consulting my primary and all the resports has so far cleared.
I had the blood, urine test, then I had the CT scan of my kidneys and last week I had the X-ray of my skull for Sinus.
The doctor suspect Sinus blockage as of now.
I feel dizzy all of a sudden and feel uncomfortable. Some times I feel sudden movement of the floor and do have mild headaches as well. Loud Noise irritates me. I am not sure whats wrong with me , but it testing me with my career and my day to day life.
Please suggest....
regards,
Arjun
sorry, would like to add one more comment. On two occasions my prolactin levels were 37, normal was 21. The endorcrinologist said that can ultimatley signal a problem with the pitturary gland. I told the doctor what my symptoms were (also letting her know each doctor said my MRI's were clear) THe doctor told me a few things can raise the prolactin level, prescription medicince which I am not on and a tumor to which she said the levels would be much higher. The doctor after hearing my symptons said to her it signals something is going on because of the numbers and that it is possible something in the area of the brain can aggravate or irratate the piturary gland causing it to cause higher levels. I would like to know your opionion. She also wanted to put me on medicince. I do not want to go on it, because I know something is not right and I dont beleive the medicine is the answer. Thank you for reading this.

Perhaps you have a cyst or something in your sinus or ear canal that wont clear up... have you tried cutting out all dairy or perhaps using anti biotics or ear drops to get rid of a stubborn infection? Sounds silly but maybe a little swimming in a chlorinated pool?
Also, try blowing up balloons 10 times a day for a minute... it might clear things up.
I've noticed this has been going on some time for you? If I had headaches 24x7 and was sure of that white spot on the MRI being something, I'd save some money again and get a 2nd or 3rd MRI. I know it sux but I don't think you're going to get any answers otherwise.
