iv nerve damage in right hand due to iv

went to hospital had surgery was on iv for 2 weeks, when they took out the iv my right hand it flopped down and i have no use of it . the doctor says it was nerve damage from iv , and now it is two months latter and still have no use of my hand .

The same thing has happened to except it has left my thumb numb! Im still in hospital so i hope they are going to sort it out before i leave! I nearly hit the roof when it happened it Was very very painful!

Wow.  You definitely need to go back to your doctor and insist that something be done about it.  Call the hospital where you had the IV and ask them how they're going to help you recover.  

I can't comprehend that this is a common side effect of IVs.  I would wonder if there was negligence involved.
