foot drop and pain

I have sciatic nerve damage due to a hip replacement in 2005. I have foort drop,pain,burning and numbness in rt foot and rt calf. Can't drive and had to go on disability. Anyone out there with similer problems. would like to here from them. Any relief besides meds for this?

have you ever heard of CIDP?  If I were you I would talk to your neurologist about that. Have them do a nerve conduction test and see if you have demyalation goign on with your nerves. Foot Drop is usually one of the first problems to show in CIDP. It did for me and many others that I keep contact with all over the world who has this condition. email me if you have more question. ***@****

Hi. My neurologist said that the nerve regenerates itself. I am still waiting since 2005. I am a semi religious person who hopes one day I will get the feeling back. Thanks for the comment. BEV

Religious rehabilitation might be the best option for your situation.  Nerves, unfortunately, do not regenerate or reconstruct by themselves and the technology I'm afraid is still not available.  Orthoses may also help in getting control of the foot and legs that may aid you in performing daily tasks.  I hope you can cope very well with this situation.  Regards and God bless.
