Omega Supplements

I currently take about 1500 mg of OmegaBrite several times a week and not every day because of the expense.  I was told by a health care professional that I should use a cheaper alternative (~6 cents a day) that was recently recommended by Consumer Reports and is available at CostCo and Sams Club.  Are all omega supplement truly alike?   The reason I chose OmegaBrite is that it is a pharmaceutical grade, kosher, fish derived from the Antarctic, and product was developed/recommended by a Harvard researcher (Stoll).  Am I being foolish by my decision, or should I go with the cheaper alternative?  Are all nutritional supplements, at least those in the omega oils cateogry, created equal?

Thank you.

You can go to cheaper brands, however, suggest looking for supplements that have the same content as what you are buying now. If some of the supplement have less omega 6 that is ok. Research has found that omega 6 counteracts omega 3's so the more omega 3s in the supplement, the better. Hoped I helped you and not confused you.

Thank you very much.  No, I am not confused.  One other issue I wondered about was the ratios.  The one brand that apparently received good reviews for its cost has these features:  400 ct.
Contributes to heart and vascular health
Gluten free
No lactose
No artificial color or flavor
1000 mg per softgel
3 softgels daily
EPA-180 mg DHA-120mg

The product I use has these features:
Scientifically Formulated by Doctors
60 per box
500mg easy to swallow capsules
Maximum Strength 90% Omega-3 Formula
Maximum 70% pure EPA formula
Molecularly distilled and third party tested for purity and potency
No Drug-like Side Effects.
No Aftertaste

So are the ratios the same if my brand is 7:1 EPA to DHA ratio?

The EPA / DHA come from the omega 3 so it is important to know ratios of the omega 3 / omega 6 fat oils sources and compare the actual ingredients of the supplements. Omega 3 should have the higher amount then omega 6.
