Weight Gain

uk2

Iv been on lyrica for 4 months now for nerve pain i have in that time gained one and a half stone (i was already one stone over weight) The tablets have a side effect of increased appetite they give you sweet cravings and carb.
I have tried to keep my in take of claories to under 2000 but of recent 1500 as im so upset about the gain.

The year before i had lost the same amount by diet and jogging. I cant exercise as in too much pain i try stretching exercises when im well enough.

My question is what calorie target should i try and do to keep me from gaining weight if my moving around is limited?

Is there any foods that would keep my weight down?

Im back at the doctors Monday and im hoping she might give me some appetite reduction tablets what do you think of these?

Thanks for everbody helps.

Sorry to hear about your pain. Unfortunately some medications have side effects that increase appetite. A few tips to help you with your hunger. Try to drink water or non-calorie drinks when you are hungry or eat non-calorie foods, such as diet jello.  Best of luck.

Thank you so much for your advise i have already been trying to keep to 1500 but its hard the tablets im on lyrica 375mg a day cause my appetite to increase so im always hungry. To know i am in the range of my ideal weight is a God send i thought i was at least two stone over weight.
I cant exercise at all im in pain all the time but i just manage to take care of my children and some days i cant even do that. On good days i do some stretching exercises. I cant do swimmimg it sets all my pain off and im bed ridden for days afterwards.

Thanks for your advise

Thank you for your height and weight. You are within the normal weight for your height. I suggest an intake of 1500 calories to maintain your weight. If you start to gain weight, then bring the calorie level to 1200 calories; however, do not go with any less calories. Less then 1200 calories will bring you into a high risk of becoming malnourished. When anyone is dieting and exercising, measuring your waist is a better indicator of weight loss then the weight scale. Exercising causes our bodies to tone up our muscles (muscle is heavier then fat) so you may not see weight loss, however, your waistline is decreasing.
Suggestion for exercising - Swimming or exercising in the water does not put a strain on the body while exercising and you are able to tone up.
Hope this helps you.

I would need your height and weight (in kilograms or inches) to calculate your calorie intake.
Thank you.
