not really any cons, mostly pros to taking them.
even the national academy of sciences suggests they are a good thing.
produce and food are deficient for the most part.

cautions: mlm'ers proliferate their nonsense on the internet, and promote
their products.  not all are bad, but typically way more expensive than others
sold in retail and nutrition stores.
you find great brands at vitamin stores.
typically, if it's too cheap, it is cheap.  watch for stupid fillers like yellow #5 and
sodium laureth sulfate and all kinds of junk.
time-release is not proven to be better, but it's ok.
usually, a multi-tablet/capsule a day multiple is best, some one-a-days are
fine, depends on how you are with taking pills.
the whole liquid vs. capsule vs. tablet absorbability is negligable, and the whole
*food grown* is nonsense.  they are synthetic vitamins put into an herbal matrix
or some such thing.  any chemist will tear that argument apart unless they work
for the company.
now, watch the mlmers go nuts.

From what I have heard the multivitamins have a lot of synthetic things in them that are hard for your body to process. You should try a liquid supplement called Body Balance. It has changed our lives. My husband used to have trouble staying well and caught every cold that went around. He started taking Body Balance and is Very Healthy now. I also used to have a lot of symtoms similar to Thyroid issues but tests always came back in the normal range, since I started taking Body Balance I have had no problems at all. If you would like some more info go to http://lifeforce.net/ProductsSingleDetail.aspx?country=USA  or call 800-531-4877
if you decide to purchase My ID# is 20635296. I believe you can still receive the first bottle free (only shipping charges) if you set up an autoship order. It is truly amazing.

Hi there,
I agree with some of the info in the other replies.  However, natural doesn't mean better.  For example, calcium from natural sources: 25% of products have high lead levels.  Be very careful.  Don't take Bovine (cow bone), coral or calcium from shells.  Usana tests ALL ingredients to ensure that there aren't any toxic elements.  check out:  www.nutriceuticals.usana.com
Retail is expensive.  I registered as a customer, and I save 10%.
I used to get sick any time I flew long distances.  But since using Usana, that changed.
Check out the Comparative Guide for Nutritional Supplements.  Usana is one of 5 (out of 1500) brands that gets a perfect score.
Stay healthy!

Very well put together, I wouldn't say it different! The commercial multis that you buy in common places and grocery stores are not the ones you want to take! They are full of toxins. Choose always HIGH quality multi vitamins, try to buy organic or at least natural. Don't forget, whatever you spend is an investment in your health and your health worth the most!

The good thing is that it would hopefully bridge any gaps of micronutrient deficiencies that may exist in your diet.  Deficiencies of any vitamin or mineral has a long list of associated issues that go with it.

All multi vitamins are not created equally.  Your mass market multi's typically contain artificial flavorings, colorings, fillers, etc. along with cheap synthetic forms of nutrients that can be harmful to the body in large amounts.  A multi vitamin with 100% RDA of each ingredient isn't ideal: the RDA is the minimum amount that the body needs to stay out of a diseased state.  Even better... all of those extra fillers make it even more foreign to the body, so you only absorb about 15% of it anways.  Don't be freaked out if a multi-vitamin has several thousand percent of the recommended daily allowance.  Optimally designed multi vitamins stay far away from toxicity levels despite being much better absorbed.  A time release multi is a good idea as well to help ensure proper absorption.
