It is recommended to eat 5-6 small meals instead of the traditional 3 large meals a day. Restrict the intake of high fiber foods, such as nuts, seeds, corn, and popcorn. Some people, depending on the progression of the disease, have to limit or avoid fresh fruits and vegetables. Reduce high fat foods (butter, margarine, high fat meats, creamy sauces, etc.) and fried foods to help decrease the diarrhea. Limit consumption of milk products if you are lactose-intolerant. Due to the nature of the disease, it is important you consume high calorie and fluids. Fluids should be non-carbonated. Medications help the most and diet helps lower the symptoms. You need to see a Dietitian so they are able to develop the right diet for you because you may tolerate some foods that others cannot. Thank you for your question.
