I don't have OCD, however thinking back i did have some OCD tendancies, but i did have an anxiety disorder as a teenage boy and i do agree with you about going to see specialists. I went and saw my doctor and he basically sat there and smiled and asked me a bunch of questions before putting me on medication. Let's just say, i took one dose of the medication, and it sent me for a sixer! i was very young then and thinking back now, really think the doctor failed..

anyway sorry, i sometimes think self-help books, maybe even some natural medicines can be effective. At the same time, if you're not getting the answers from the doctor/specialist that you're looking for, don't take no for an answer. Iv'e learnt to be really assertive these days.

As for your original post, try and put things into perspective, i don't think i've heard of any cases where a person has contracted HIV when going to shops, movies, the bank, a pub etc. I know it's easy for me to say but just thought i'd try and help. All the best in getting help, and check back in a let us know how your going :)

hi, thanks for your answer...yes, I had seen by doctors and also a terapist, i'm on medication but i think the doses are too small because is not working that well, i will try to call my doctor today to se if she can do smething about it, the most frsutrating thing is that you come here for help and the people felt insulted because you ask  questions and the answers are always kind of vague ( i dont say this for you, dont worry !!! ) is like you pay but you dont have the real answer you are looking for....thanks...do you also suffer from OCD? how long? had you read the book "brain Lock"?

it makes it easy for me to say that it's unlikely going to happen, but i'm not experiencing the same kind of anxieties as you are, my suggestion would be to go back to the doctor/specialist and look further into it. Have you been prescibed medication, or counselling at all?
