3 years now i have had pain...

Dear Dr,
I am 17 years old and I dislocated my shoulder when I was in 8th grade im now in 11th I have been having pains in my shoulder for 3 years.  I went to an ortho. doctor and I got an x-ray they found nothing.  So then I had an MRI and they said I have bone spurs so they went in and shaved them out and I was still having pain just as bad so they went in again and they said they grew back already.  So they just took a little piece of that bone out that they were growing on Im still having pains in my shoulder now and my shoulder blade.  Im do my phycial therapy excires 3 times a week and I do all of them not just some but is do them all.  Is there any thing you can help me with like pain I get tired of taking advil and pain killers etc. or what it might be?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Do not take pain killers continuously and always take them intermittently. You can apply ice packs and also massage diclofenac gel on the area of pain and you can also consider some diclofenac sprays for pain relief.

As you are seeing an orthopedician and going perfectly the right way, follow that properly and have patience and do your physical therapy properly and regularly.

Do not exert your affected shoulder with physical activity or by lifting of heavy weights.

Take care!
