My 8 year old son has tested positive for MERSA and had an incisionIncision for abdominal laparoscopy Incision for lung biopsy Incision for pleural tissue biopsy Incision for thyroid gland surgery to drain his thumb and also his nail removed. It's been 3 weeks now and the inside (webbing part) between his thumb and index finger still hurt. His prediatrition had us get another x-ray to see if the infection could be in the bone and he said it's not (also the radiologist at the hospital reviewed it). But my husband's primary Dr. said that the only way to know for sure is by an MRI or bone scan. I'm not sure what to do at this point. The pediatrition said the pain should be gone in the next few days.
My 23 year old son is currently in the hospital undergoing IV antibiotics due to an infection in his knee from a fishing accident that happened 7 days ago. The nurse gave him a shot in the abdomen saying the doctor had ordered it to "prevent blood clots".
I have never heard of this. Can anyone help me on this?
