Fall on wrist

I slipped and fell backwards, landing on outstretched hand, wrist bent back. I had a pisiformectomy and ulnar nerve decompression at guyon canal on same wrist 3 weeks earlier. When I fell hurt like hell thought I broke it, then whole hand went numb for about 15 min to 1/2 hr. It didn't bruise but it swelled up under my incision. I iced a lot 2 days later swelling came down. About two weeks later the back of my hand swelled the Orthodox Dr gave me oral cortisone to take for a week as a lot of icing wasn't helping the swelling. Also took X-ray's nothing broken. The cortisone took away most of the swelling. It still hurts to bend wrist back on the radial side of my wrist, as I'm doing physical therapy. Could I have a bad sprain or could there b ligaments torn? I feel like something else is wrong in my wrist since this fall. Would this warrant asking for a MRI?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Yes, it would be great if a MRI xcould be done. It looks like you have a ligament injury. Please ask your doctor regarding this. It may help to wear a wrist support to stabilize the wrist. Physical therapy should be halted, ice pack and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory used. The physical therapy can be started at  a later date. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
