(ACTUALLY AN ANSWER TO SLIPPING RIB SYNDROME)I got an answer for u. I am 15, have probably the same thing u have. i had 3 rib surgeries to take care of this. Its called Slipping Rib Syndrome. I have had this pain for 3 years. my rib could move and clack with the other ribs. Ur born with this unless of injury. they took out my whole rib, 10 inches and the nerve was cut and tied off I had Severe shocking, stabbing, always there pain, hyper sensitivity, needle-like pain all throughout my back, and i couldnt even go to school for the past 2 1/2 years because of this. How do I find a doctor who treats slipping rib syndrome or a surgeon has done the costal cartilage excision surgery?

How are you doing now that its almost a year post op? I have a daughter who has spent the last 4 years dealing with the same symptoms you mentioned in your 1/19/10 post.  Where did you get help? So far everyone throws drugs at her but no one find the cause of the pain..  He life has virtually stopped.  Any direction would help.
