arthroscopic shoulder surgery

I had arthroscopic shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago. This included acromioplasty, bursectomy, and excisional arthroplasty distal clavicle and calcification of rotator cuff. Since about a week post-op I've had some swelling and pain straightening my arm near my elbow on the inside of my arm. What could be causing this?

I am aware that it will take quite a while to recover and quite a bit of pain getting there. But I was mainly concerned with why there may be a lump in my arm which is tender close to the elbow. Whether this is normal? Over the last couple of days the tender spot has moved further down my arm and is at the elbow now. I am concerned about a blood clot but my surgeon said if I had a blood clot my arm and hand would be swollen also. Just confused.

Hello Dear,
Following rotator cuff repair and repair of an unstable shoulder, certain shoulder movements are not allowed for a period of time.
The amount of movement allowed following surgery will depend on the procedure that was done
Series of specific exercises will be prescribed, to be done under the direction of a rehabilitation specialist .Recovery of comfort and function following shoulder stabilization procedures continues over a few months. You can take some NSAID for pain relief. Also follow up your surgeon to assess the healing process.
