i have a lump on top of my hand not palm side *worried and can not sleep*

Hello i have a peas sized maye slightly wider lump that only appears when i put my arn in certain positions e.g when my arm is down but my hand points up.Its not rock hard but not squidgy no bruising or swelling just that bump. there is no pain apart from my worry i am at doc this morning but i crnt sleep so just wondered if any one could shed any light i would be grateful :)

Just go for a routine X-ray to detect the cause. If your Scaphoid, lunate, triquetral, trapezoid bones of your wrist are fine and also the bones of your thumb are fine there is nothing to worry. It might be a spur or some growth in most of the cases they are not symptomatic or cause any problem. Take care!

i forgot to say its the thumb side of my right hand just aboue my wrist
