10 cm complex mass

Hello Dr.
I have scheduled a appt with an gyn/onc but I have a few questions that I would like to see if you could help me answer:
-why is this 10 cm complex cystic mass so concerning to my drs?
-what does it mean on the US report that the mass has with low level echos and peripheral sepatations representing a cystic neoplasm of the ovary.
-what does it mean to have small follicles 2.4x2.0x1.8 on the other ovaries. can it be that the mass I currently have is a follicle mass?
-the conclusion of my CT &US states thin walled cystic pelvic mass measuring 9.9x9.1cm presumably representing a cystic neoplasm of the ovary.
- the report states that there are thin internal septations.
- states this is highly suspecious for cystic neoplasm.

what in that report is concerning the drs. I have read all over the internet for answers to these questions and it seems that there is alot on contradictory information. Is there something here that indicates Cancer??

also I tentatively have surgery scheduled 10-22 for this mass. will they be able to do laproscopically or will it have to be a abdominal incision. As I stated in my previous post I am a healthy 46 yr post hysteroctomy (?) woman. I do seem to produce alot of cysts in my body as I have families of them in the breast pretty unilateral. I dont know if this info helps but I also have a hemangenoma approx 3.9cm in my right lobe of the liver. They had really problem diagnosing it as it does not have typical charastics of hemangenoma. The current CT shows no change in the hemangenoma in the last 1 year. I had a colonscopy done almost 3 yrs ago and there were 8 small poylps removed all beign. My grandmother had colon cancer in her early 40s but was treated successfully and didnt pass away until she was 105 last year. I am sorry to ramble but I just want to make sure to educate myself as much as possible . I would appreciate your opion. Thank You.

Hi there
these are all good questions that you should ask your doctor about
basically a 10 cm cyst is abnormally large
It is not possible to know if something is malignant without removing it and looking at the tumor microscopically.
Anything that persists and is over 5 cm should be surgically removed
best wishes
