Abnormal Pap Results

I recently had my yearly exam and my pap results came back abnormal (level 1). I was just curious if anyone knows if my results could be abnormal due to the fact i was supposed to get my period the day after my exam (which i did). When I called to make an appointment for 3 months, I asked the lady on the phone if that was possible and she said she didn't know. I'm just hoping that that's what caused the abnormal result. If this isn't the right board to be asking in, I'm sorry, but I'm just worried. Thanks.

I had an abnormal pap in June 2004-- I ended up having the colposcopy and cryotherapy done in Sept 2004.  Since then I've had several normal pap smears. The one in January was a day before my period and it was fine.
