Complex cyst

I recently had what my urologist thinks was a kidney stone. (have had them before)  When doing the CAT Scan they saw a complex cyst probably ovarian in nature measuring at its longest point to be 5cm.  I am going to see a Gynecologist in 2 weeks.  My question is:  What is the chance that this is nothing?  I am still having some pain in my back and side ,but usually only in the morning.  I have significant endometriosis and have never gotten pregnant on my own.  Could this be a cyst filled with the endometriosis? Something else??

Thanks.

Dear Cindy,

I completely agree with Linlyn. If the cyst persists, that is a reason to remove it by laparoscopy. Please let us know what happens
best wishes

Sounds to me that it is endometrioma (one type ovarian cyst). When a woman has endometriosis, it is very common that endometrium traval to ovary and it bleeds every month with your period. It is not cancer. It is very common to have pain in back and side when you have ovarian cyst becasue of the enlarged ovary. You need take care of the cyst. Either have surgery to remove it or have some medication. I think the obgyn will decide the treatment according to your age and history. Do not worry a lot. It is benign.
