Doxil

by dcip, Jan 29, 2008 09:21AM
I had my first doxil treatment (20mg) 5 days ago.  I felt pretty good for the first two days, then constipation.  I'm going but I have had like a pinchy pain all around abdomen and stomach.
Can this be caused by the doxil?

Hi, I am not familiar with the effects of chemo, but maybe ask your doctor and they can determine this and maybe give you something before it becomes a problem. Just remember to drink lots of fluids and maybe add more fiber if you can tolerate it. Maybe see if stool softener can be used.
Sorry my answer sounds so abvious, but I have found there is no magic pill or remedy for constipation, Usually trial and error to find what works best and fluid and fiber are usually key.
