Early Stage Ovarian Cancer Symtpoms

Okay, here is my story :)

In November of 2008, I was having extremely, gut wreching pain,....to the point that I would double over, pain and discomfot during intercourse, I have very regular periods, extreme gas, and vaginal discharge.  I also always have a high white blood cell count when I have blood tests or urine analysis done.  In 2004, I had an abnormal pap smear and didnt follow up on it. Anways, with my symptoms, I went to the doctor, assuming it was just a cyst and so she set me up for a transvaginal ultrasound.  The result was a small fibriod cyst on my uterus.  The hospital insisted that I have an annual set up with my primary care physician...I had that early January 2009....Friday, January 23rd, the office calls me and tells me that I have extremely high testosterone levels.

I am unsure as to what this all implies.  I have an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist tomorrow (1-27-09), but wondered how everyone elses cancer first started.  I have researched alot and found that ovarian cancer symptoms are sudden for a few months, then reside for the next 4-5 years, past the point of redemption for treatment if caught late.  What are everyone else's experiences?

I'm in complete agreement with Cindy, this is all over the place. Has anyone given you a CA125 blood test and what did the transvaginal ultrasound report about any abnormal activity on the ovaries? Start there to rule OVCA in or out. Definitely see a Gyn Oncologist as Cindy said, and let us know what your findings are.
My early symptoms of OVCA went on for 6 months while my internist told me not to worry, it was side affects of a med. I was on. It wasn't until I saw my Gyn and had an internal, that my cocoanut size ovary mass was felt. Surgery staged me 111c and I'm in my 2nd relapse now.
Nelle, definitely be pro active with your health, I wish I was 2 years ago!!!

I'm going to start out with the abnormal pap smear.  What is going on with that?  I'm a little confused with your post?  How old are you and why are you going to a reproductive endocrinologist?  Is that to check your hormones?  If ovarian cancer is suspected you should be seeing a gyn oncologist. But first you have to rule out ovarian cancer.Have you researched the disease?  Have you talked to your doctor about it?   I can't answer your question about your high testosterone levels.  What did the doctor say?  Also your high white count?  What did they say about that, infection?  I truly wish I could help you more with your questions but it seems that you haven't been pro-active with your health ignoring an abnormal pap smear.  Didn't your gyn ask you to return?  That was in 2004.  I hope someone can jump in and help.....I'm shocked about your pap.....Cindy
