I have the same problem, I think it is from the Chemo.  I never had any problems until I found out I had ovarian cancer.  But this pass year has been nothing but a nightmare.  I have been on chemo for over a year now.  I just want to find something to put it back into remission and give my body a rest.  I know I am asking for a lot but my body is really starting to take a toll with all this chemo and I think the Gemzar effected me the most or just that I had so such chemo and this was last one.

Good luck with the Gemzar, I hope it works for you.  My thoughts and prayer are with you.  Diane

Jatoo,

I just emailed them in New Jersey on that trial today. There was no phone number so I emailed.

Diane,
Sorry about your pain. Let me know how your cat scan goes. It's too bad that cancer became resistant to the taxol. It was going good for me keeping everything stable and then I became resistant. You, too.

Tell me something and I am going to post this question, too. After you doing these chemos have they affected your intestines. I am wondering if its cancer growing in my intestines or the chemo is affecting the peristalsis. I don't seem to have the peristalsis as I used to and it just started as I was ending Taxol.

Good luck with your scan. I'll be praying for you.
Helen

There is a clinical trial on VEGF Trap in New Jersey by NCI. This was one of our choices here in LA but opted for Avastin, just to be kicked out later before it even started. I posted the successful result of one patient in this trial and there is another one here who have just enrolled.

We just saw our Onc today for her treatment with Gemzar (together with Avastin on another day) and this well tolerated combo has stabilized my wife (who is platinum resistant) with CA 125 down from 500 when we started in January to 74 now. We have not seen the scan yet, but she feels very much better now.

I hope that you find right treatment.

Hello,

I am still on the Vitamin C and it is keeping my immune system and counts up.  But my cancer is now resistant to taxol and gemzar.  My counts started to climb a bit in the past several weeks, so three weeks ago my oncologist wanted to change to Gemzar and after two treatment my numbers went up another 56 points. Which was double from what it was going up.  I have burning pain in the right pelvis area, which I go for a CT scan tomorrow.  The vitamin C lady is giving me 100 grams a day starting tomorrow. The vitamin nurse said between the stress and pain she wanted to up the C to see if that will help kick start things again.  As you know this cancer just doesn't give up for anything.  I have been looking into clinical trials also but most are closed for ovarian cancer.  I tried to get into the one with the vaccine with NCI, but that was closed.  I don't feel bad except for the pain and the depression of not knowing where to go from here.  Just doing housework and going to mall I can't walk around without being pain. They gave me all kinds of pain meds but they only made me sick so I stopped everything on Monday.  Funny I live in the Philadelphia area  close to lots of hospital but not one good clinical trial open for ovarian cancer.  I have even requested the stem cell but haven't gotten any calls back yet.  I am like everyone else with cancer looking for answers and hoping the vitamin C would work for me.  I guess I was to far long with the cancer for it to take.  Because she has many ovarian cancer patients who are in remission and doing great with just the vitamin C.  I will keep you posted and good luck with the Gemzar I hope it works for you.  My thoughts and prayers are with you. Good Luck! Diane

I haven't been there. But have browsed a lot and am sure I ran into it (internet of course). It sure would be fun to visit though.

How are you doing Diane. The last I remember you had good results with the Vit C and taxol. I wonder if OVC becomes resistant to the Vit C after awhile? Are you still doing it and having the same results. Are you off Taxol now or still doing it?

I became resistant to taxol. Tomorrow I start Gemzar :(

I have looked into a lot of clinical trials but not found one I like or I disqualify.
