Internal Echoes
I'm in my late 30's. I have had two abnormal paps in the last 5 years.  Recently had transabdominal/endovaginal pelvic ultrasound. The right ovary is 3.8 x 2.5 x 3.7 and shows several hypoechoic areas of which the largest measures 1.2 x 1.4 cm, consistent with follicles possibly representing hemorrhagic follicles. Flow is noted. Same is noted on left ovary (measures 3.0 x 2.2 x 1.3) but there are only a few with largest being 9 mm. Also notes introverted heterogeneous uterus with focal fibroids. Cysts noted in cervix.

The radiologist notes a cone biopsy could be helpful.

Abnormal pap five years ago, biopsy done and treatment involving freezing of cervix done. Now another abonormal pap.  What are hypoechoic areas and internal echoes? Is this something that can lead to ovarian cancer. Would a hysterectomy be a consideration?
