Can't a immature teratoma come back again after been remove?

It is very stressfull to constantly have this hanging over your head,exspecially at your young age. What exactly did your pathology report say, specifically in relation to the histological grade. Was your other ovary affected.  It is reported that immature teratoma can have specific tumor markers as I enclosed. Are they doing blood testing on AFP: alpha fetoprotein;  LDH: lactate dehydrogenase.
These immature tratoma tumors are composed of tissue from the three germ cell layers .  Histologically, there are varying amounts of immature tissue in these tumors ie; cartilage, glands, bone, muscle, nerve, and others.
Immature teratomas should have be histologically graded on pathology report. The grade of differentiation (ranging from I [well differentiated] to III [poorly differentiated]) is based upon the proportion of tissue in histologic sections containing immature neural elements Tumor grade is an important indicator of the risk for extraovarian spread. The presence of foci of yolk sac tumor in immature teratomas generally reflects more aggressive tumor behavior.
Discuss your pathology report with your GYN/Oncologist, if you don't have one get a consult with one to discuss the path report and follow up testing and or treatment if needed.
If you don't have a copy of your pathology report get it as you are entitiled to copies of all your tests.
