Hi All... well I can honestly say that I don't have any pain, and haven't had any since my operation in Feb04, so I guess there are some of us who are a little luckier with this. My Oncol. tells me that this is one aspect of this disease that he doesn't worry about with me. Maybe I don't get pain because my cancer is 'seeded' and therefore I don't have any solid tumours. I think the bigger tumours can cause problems if pressing on nerves, or some part of the body. Even with my numbers being 7500 I didn't experience any pain or discomfort. It seems there is no general rule for any part of this lousy disease. I think the pain would make one feel unwell too.
I just wish everyone could be pain free.. and free of this lousy cancer.
I hope everyone is doing well. Hugs to all...Helen...
Dear Helen:
That is a very good question Helen. I don't know of anybody who does not have pain with this disease. The disease difinitely will give one pain. And then the treatment and it's side effects. Constipation would also bring upset stomach, and then what one eats. Sometimes one wonders where the pain is coming from.
She takes Tylenol, stool softener, laxative, etc. Do you have a "special" medication to prevent all of this?
Praying for your good result tomorrow.
Thanks
Jatoo
Diane and Jatoo,
It's great to hear good news. Very good news. I hope there is no pain at all with you, Diane, and Melody. I have been thinking of Plady also.
Stay well,
Helen
Tomorrow is my big day of whole body news.
Dear Helen and Jatoo,
All my pain is gone and I am off the pain medicine. I am still doing TPN for my protein intake I will probable be on it another three to four weeks. But that is ok since all the swelling in my leg and feet are also gone. But things are all starting to work well again.
Helen good luck tomorrow I will be praying for you. Keep positive that everything is going to be good.
Take care and my thoughts and prayer are with you both.
Diane
Dear Diane:
Excellent news and I'm glad you are back. I have been thinking about you and also of Plady. It's great that you are not Platinum-resistant. That gives you a lot of options. Furthermore, I couldn't believe that Genentech would approve your request for Avastin. That give's you another powerful option.
My wife's last scan (around June 10) read "stable" except for some fluids isolated (and not scattered) in the middle part of the pelvis (which can be tapped if it is really necessary. She has not been tapped since January. So already six(6) months). Other than that, there has been no growth in measurable tumors. Her CA 125 is 53.
So the Onc, recommended that she stay's in the same regimen: reduced Gemzar (like every other week), Avastin every three(3) weeks and she still take Femara pills.
We have to continue on praying. Again thanks for your prayers and for this update.
Jatoo
