Hi!
Thanks for the information. I will let my mom know. Sometiimes she thinks she is the only one experiencing pain from the shot. I pray for you too,
Big hug to you

That is great news!!! We love to hear positive stories and results. Just to let you know, I take Nulasta shorts following my chemo, and though it is painful for my joints, I think it's highly worth it. I have had acupunture before and after my treatments and find it has helped tremendously with the nulasta shots. Just a little FYI... With love, Deandra
Hi Jan-
How are you doing today?
I just wanted to let you know that the results of the CT scan were good. No sign recurrence. Thank you so much for helping me through this hurdle.
You are a very special person to help someone you don't even know - me.
You are in my prayers.
Big hug back :-)
I don't take maintenance chemo as I finished my first line chemo in March and recurred in Sept. My Dr did not suggest maintenance chemo and I only know they usually give it to prolong remissions. I will be asking my Dr about it though as I only had 5 mths in remission.
I know it is hard to be strong all of the time so make sure you still live your life while you are taking care of her. Go out, have fun, live life. Don't let yourself get rundown or it will only upset her to see you like that and you won't be helping her if you are to rundown and tired.
I do take the Neulasta shots but they don't seem as bad this time with the Gemzar as they did with the Carbo/Taxol but I remember the fatique, violent heaving, and the bone crunching pain in my legs and hips. Either your mom's test indicate she needs the shot or her Dr. is very proactive like mine.
You are a good daughter. I wish I had been older when my mom was going through this. She died from this horrible monster when I was 7 and I have always wished I could have been there more for her. Let me know how the CT goes. You should have the results very soon. Big Hug
Jan
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I am an only child and the thought of my mom being sick let alone going through this scares me in ways I never thought. I am strong for her but it is so hard. We had the CT scan today I will keep you posted.
Do you think maintenance chemo is no longer an option and she will have to go back to the regular regimen?
Do/did you have to take Neulasta shots? These shots seem harder on my mom than the chemo.
As someone else on here says, "Don't waste a good panic until you have to". That is not a huge jump so even if they find something on the CT it is likely to be small. If the Taxol is not working for her anymore there are a ton of others that she can try. It is a good sign that she is feeling so well. I know it is easier said than done, but try not to worry until you actually have something to worry about. She is lucky to have you. Good luck
Jan
