Mucinous Cystadenoma

Hi Dr Goodman. Me again, Well, I finally did it. After a year of stress, I had robotic hyst/bso/appy on Oct 15th actually with an old collegue of yours Dr Arlan Fuller. I guess I had 12 fibroids, multiple hemorrhagic cysts, endometriomas, adenomyosis and a mucinious cystadenoma. I had severe endo which attached everything to my rectum and posterior cervix. I got a copy of the path report from the hospital as I won't be discussing all my results til my post op appt on Nov 14th. I have read so much about the mucinous cystadenomas, that they can fall into the catagory of borderline stuff. Is this the case in all mucinous cystadenomas or are some just strictly benign? I was wondering if this type of finding requires additional path testing or is it something that can just be put to rest? I am also having a really hard time with surgical menopause. Slammed right into it. The emotional stuff is terrible, Im up, Im down, Im crying. Bad Night Sweats, seems like Im unable to empty my bladder. Ugh, what a mess.
Is there anything I can take in the interrim before I start hormones? The nurse at his office said he won't start them til my post op....UGh, that is still over 2 weeks away... any help you can give me on this stuff would be so appreciated.
I thank again for being such a wondeful force on these forums...

Dear Laney,

That is excellent! You are in good hands with your doctor. I do not want to suggest anything that might be different from what he will counsel you at your appointment.  I know that you had an excellent surgery. He will review your final reports at the time of your visit. I know he will explain the pathology in detail. If the final pathology shows a mucinous cystadenoma, that is a benign tumor.

Menopause is very tough and takes alot of adjustment for many women.  Again, it sounds like you are in contact with his office so I do not want to suggest other medications. Some people do find that acupuncture can be a helpful adjunct for tough symptoms.

Dear Laney,
it is fine to travel 4-6 weeks after surgery. Please sure that you get up and walk around frequently in a long journey. There is a risk of blood clots after pelvic surgery that continues for about 6 weeks postop.

I hope you are feeling better

One more thing Dr G. Is it safe to fly at about 4-5 weeks post op. I was hoping to visit my cousin and friends in Fl to be able to get me out of this funk...This is really way worse than I ever expected.... Thank you
