Pet /CT scans and cancer

Had Hodgkins lymphoma in chest nov 2002 on pet/ct scan showed a lesion 3.2cm on ovary did not show cancer. Now feb 2004 still there(lesion)3.2cm and did not show cancer. Will pet/ct scan show Ovarian cancer? What could it be due to its not growing is this a good sign? not had a CA125 but all blood work is great. There is a dull pain at that area come and goes. No gas or discomfort in stomach area Most pain is when I ovulate. My cancer DR(for Hodgkins) says he dont think it is nothing just a cyst.
But Some people (that not DR's) has told me they didnt think it would pick up cancer. Thanks for your input.

PET scanning has been well documented in detecting malignant lesions that were not revealed on CT.  PET, unlike CT evaluates
tumor metabolism by the use of FDG or (sugar).  Malignant tumors
metabolize sugar at a higher rate than normal tissue allowing
the PET scan to detect the abnormal tumor uptake of sugar.

Currently, PET scanning is approved by Medicare for the follwing
cancers; Non-Small Cell Lung, Colorectal, Lymphoma, Esophageal, Head and Neck, Breast, Melanoma.  Ovarian cancer is currently under review, however, scientific papers have well documented
the use of PET in ovarian cancer.

I would be happy to provide you with more information as well as clinical papers on PET in Ovarian Cancer.
