I had an MRI done recently and it showed I have Physiologic Cysts on my ovary. I was told this shouldn't happen if I'm on the pill, which I am. Has anyone ever had this same problem? I have not seen my doctor yet, I have an appointment scheduled but I just wanted to see if anyone else out there might be going through what I'm going through. Thanks,
Hi - I did have the same condition three years ago. I was on birth controlControl Control rx and developed a complex cyst on my right ovary as well as a regularRegular insulin cyst on my left ovary. From what I believe, since you are on birth controlControl Control rx, you do not ovulate and therefore do not even produce functional cysts. So any cysts would be referred to as "psysiological." (sp??) because th ey develop from something else other than the regularRegular insulin process of forming cysts during ovulation.
My doctor didn't waste much time in going in to remove them b/c of this situation; he didn't know what they were from until he went in. They were totally benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo and I still don't know how they formed - psyciological, I suppose. After that surgery I went off birth controlControl Control rx and had a baby, so all turned out good! Still get cysts, but they are now functional as far as I know.
