when they find atypical glandular cells in your pap, does that mean you have cancer and if so what are the treatments and is it deadly?

Hi there
the cervix has a skin lining layer on the outside called squamous lining.
The cervical canal is lined by glandular cells that function to make mucous.

atypical glandular cells can represent inflammation or a precancerous change, or an actual cancer in the cervix.

The next step is an evalaution of the cervix by colposcopy and possibly a a cervical biopsy called a cone biopsy or a LEEP

sometimes it is also important to evaluate the lining of the uterus with an endometrial biopsy
best wishes
