Problems after vaginal hyst...???

I had a vaginal hysterectomy December 2006 leaving both ovaries.

Since then within the last month or so I have had weight gain, facial hair growth and darkness increase drastically, pain in abdomen, swelling in ankles, major fatigue.

I guess I am concerned that there is something else going on. Just wondering and hoping someone has suggestions for me. I am only 27 with two small children and scared. I have made an appt. with my MD but I can't get in for two weeks.

HELP!! Thanks!

I had my hyst because of abnormal bleeding and heavy periods that birth control, tubal, and ablation did nothing for.

I am taking synthroid already and so I guess that never crossed my mind.  I talked to my PCP and they are going to do an ultrasound to see what my ovaries look like and blood panels.  I have a strong history of breast/ovarian cancer in my family on my mother's side.  Her mom had/has it and and my mom passed at the age 34 from a tumor that caused her to hemorage.

Let me know your opinion on all of this.

Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
hi there,
why did you have your hysterectomy? Your symptoms make me wonder if you have developed a thyroid deficiency. You should see your PCP and it may be possible to see your PCP sooner than your surgeon. I do not think your symptoms are related to your surgery
best wishes
