Staging for Borderline Cancer

I was diagonosed last year with borderline ovca after having my left ovary and tube removed due to a tumor.  The initial frozen section pathology was benign with some parts inconclusive so they closed me up without doing any staging.  I was told I should have a hysterectomy when I've decided I'm ready.  I've now decided to have the surgery and one doctor had previously told me I could have staging surgery when I have my hysterectomy.  Is it safer to have the staging surgery (Final pathology confirmed a serous borderline ca stage 1 as did a second opinion)just to be sure since they're doing surgery anyway?  Also, what should be staged in my case, the omentum, lymph nodes, ??  I meet with my dr this week to discuss the surgery is there anything else I should be discussing with him?

Thanks.
