It's okay, I like details. It's hard to explain stuff sometimes.
I've had the same thing in the middle of the month (maybe during ovulation) and have had snotty type stuff kinda' run out during/after B.M. upon wiping, but I haven't had that in awhile...It was more watery last month, sometimes I think I peed. But now, I'm just dry and itchy alot. So maybe it's all a hormonal thing, I have hot flashes too...so, I guess that's it for me. Sorry, I don't have a better answer! I think I'll get offa' here and watch some t.v. before night-night.
Take care,

Hey ladies,
There actually is a name for that snotty mid-cycle mucous--it's called spinbarkiet and it is ovulation mucous. That means you are fertile and ovulating. When you're not ovulating the mucous is thick and white or yellowish. The purpose of this slimy stuff is to give a free slide up the cervix and on up to the awaiting egg for the sperm. You probably notice it with straining since it gets pushed out with the pushing, otherwise you would just think you are wetter at this time of the month.
When natural family planning (NFP) is used for birth control this is one of the physical signs that is charted so couples can either skip sex on those days or use a back-up method. Or if you want to get pregnant--well go for it on the slimy days :)

Well it is good to know that I am fertile myrtle!! :)
Ah yes, the days of checking the mucous for fertility. We used that method successfullly for years since I was eventuallly unable to tolerate the pill. Then we reversed it when trying to conceive our daughter.
I like to think we have come a long way in 25 years. My husband and I sat in a doctor's office just before we were married to discuss birth control methods. At the time, I was becoming interested in Natural Family Planning which includes checking the quality of the mucous frequently throughout the month as one of the techniques incorporated in this type of birth control. This cave-man doctor actually said to us, "Well, there is Natural Family Planning, but I can't imagine that a woman would want to have to check her mucous by touching it and all." I was appalled, but too young and naive to say anything. I had plenty of thoughts in my head, however!
Just wanted to add that mucous can come from the rectal area, too. I had a problem with fissures and had to have surgery for that (it was a great cure, actually) and the doctor mentioned that I might notice mucous more so than others who don't have the problem. I am not sure how this correlates as a real symptom, though. Have not had fissure problems except for maybe three or four "twinges" a year. What relief!
