Trackers?

So I noticed this new tab in "My MedHelp" and I clicked on it to see what it was. It then prompts me to add an Ovulation Tracker so I can find out when my fertile window is. I know MedHelp wants to add all these neat new things, but how insensitive is that?! I think they need to be a little more aware, and more careful, about who may recieve them. As a 29 year old with no ovaries (let alone everything else!) I am more than upset by this. Anyone else get asked to add the "ovulation tracker"?

My 2 cents. I also was startled when I clicked on the trackers tab and feel like they should have had several more before they chose to start this.

Hindsight and all that. It would have been nice to have several trackers planned out before adding them to the board. To see "tracker", click and have a drop down menu of 5 or 6 options would have been less surprising. I'm sure it will be a very helpful tool.

Hi,

Wanted to post to address the trackers tab in your profile. As you have noticed, all members now have a tracker tab added to your My MedHelp profile. Currently, the Ovulation tracker is the only one we have live, but we have a series of trackers coming, some that are very broad, like a Calendar (you can use to keep track of your treatments, surgeries, etc.) and Weight Loss, to those that are very specific like Addiction Recovery (Days Clean) and the Ovulation Tracker. In addition, we're going to work with many of the communities to start developing more specific trackers where they apply. The original plan was there would just be a long list of available trackers and you could create a tracker for any you were interested in. We apologize for any hard feelings caused on pushing the Ovulation tracker out to all members and we're looking into how to correct it.

Thank you for letting us know the concern.

Irene those trackers would be very useful, but I agree that the Ovulation Tracker was quite startling to see.  I have two grown children, but Cory and I just got married last August and if the choice hadn't been taken from me I would have seriously considered having another one.  My biggest regret is that we don't have a child together.  I understand that it must be even more upsetting for you younger women who would have liked to have more or even one child.  I think medhelp meant well, but it comes back to them lumping the cyst and cancer forums together. I thought they would be separate which is the way it should be, but their HealthPages is the same as ours and I guess we are stuck with the obnoxious reminder that we can no longer have children.

If you look at the profiles of people from other completely unrelated forums, they have a tracker button, but it says no trackers are available yet so I am assuming that they will be making trackers for the various forums.  However, medhelp should not just assume that we all want the trackers.  I think it would be best if they had a list of trackers available and than we could pick which ones we want.

We ALL need to petition medhelp to completely separate the cyst forum from the OvCa forum.  You all with cysts know how I feel about your situations, and that I answer your questions on that forum and have made some Healthpages to help you all, but in the end it isn't the same at all and this needs to be taken care of asap.

I've got one and I'm menopausal. Wish they had "trackers" to choose from relating to diet, medications we use, surgeries and procedures, etc. Things the doctors always ask when we visit and can't remember it all. Now that would be handy to print out and take with us.

Hi Becky,
I noticed the same thing and thought the same thing!  I wrote to MedHelp and told them that I thought it was insensitive to put an ovulation tracker on a site where most of the women do not ovulate.  I didn't hear back.

I think they just put it there...I didn't ask for it either.

Take care,
L
