after a year from chemo

my wife survived the 6 cycles of chemo last year of june due to ovarian cancer (stage1c) after her operation removing her left ovary. Her right ovary was detected to have a cyst that was biopsy. & now suddenly she lost weight of almost 40 lbs and up to this date losing weight. most of the time she got fever & chilling. she also lost her appetite and always craving for cold water upon waking up or anytime of the day. our doc suggests that she have a blood transfusion (2 bags) in w/c we haved and still her condition remains the same. based on her ultra sound she has myoma all over & a cyst on her left ovary. the doctor just suggests that she take multi vitamins plus iron. Is there any med thats right for her condition? Pls help us, shes really suffering right now. thanx & more power

Definitly get to a new doctor NOW   even with stage 1, I would have thought they would have removed any other organs that might harbor  cancer cells. A vitamin is not going to help your wife. find the best Onocologist you can and soon.  You counterdict yourself just a bit here and confuse me, Removed her left ovary,  biopsied the right ovary,  cyst on left ovary, Ovarian Remmanet syndrome?   Myoma all over?
Myoma: A benign tumor of smooth muscle in the wall of the uterus. A myoma of the uterus is commonly called a fibroid.

Uterine fibroids are the single most common indication for hysterectomy. Fibroids can be present and be inapparent. However, they are clinically apparent in up to 25% of women and cause significant morbidity, including prolonged or heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pressure or pain, and, in rare cases, reproductive dysfunction. Both the economic cost and the effect of fibroids on quality of life are substantial.

Fibroids are not cancerous. Drugs that manipulate the levels of steroid hormones are effective in treating fibroids but side-effects limit their long-term use. Fibroids may be removed if they cause discomfort or if they are associated with uterine bleeding. Surgery is the mainstay of fibroid treatment. In addition to hysterectomy and abdominal myomectomy, various minimally invasive procedures have been developed to remove fibroids.

You nedd to help your wife get some good medical advice quickly.

I agree with Dian only I think you should run to the nearest ER.  Your Dr is suggesting blood tranfusions one minute and vitamins the next.  HELL NO.  Myomas are usually treated with steroids or surgery.  Is she on steroids?  Has she had surgery?  If she has myomas "all over" those should have been looked into.
I went through the same things when I was recurring, weight loss, fever, chills, craved ICE COLD water all of the time.  She doesn't sound like she can be her own advocate right now so you have to be.  Don't let ANYONE tell you to sit back and wait on this.  The good thing about ER's is that they have a plethora of Drs to choose from and they WILL NOT let her go until they find out what is wrong with her and get her some help.
You will be in my prayers

I definately agree with Dian time for a new doctor !!!!

A gyn/onc is the person to make the call on treatment options for ovarian cancer patients and from the description of what your wife is going through, something is definately not right. Has she been followed up on a 3 monthly basis with both CA125 test and regular CT scans?

Good Luck and please let us now how your wife goes

I think it is time for a new doctor.   This is not right....fever, chills, wieght loss, needing blood transfusions.....something is going on and it's not being addressed by taking a multi-vitamin plus iron.  This doctor sounds like a real quack.....maybe you should consider taking her to the emergency room for treatment and then get a referral to a gyn/oncologist.  Please do just that.....go to the emergency room...have her seen there and then ask for a referral to a gyn/oncologist.  Good luck and if possible do let us know how you and your wife turn out.  Pleasse give her my best.
Peace.
