Ovarian cancer surrounding Lung?

My wife is being treated for Ovarian Cancer surrounding her lungs and possibly in her lungs.
She had Ovaries removed about 11 years ago and treated with chemotherapy until her CA125 test only read 8 units

Current history
She has been in several hospitals since Feb 21st, 2007.
Original problem was that she felt a pop then pain in her side when standing.
I have CT scans and lungs looked fairly clear.  Some fluid under her left lung.

Hematoma drained.
She was treated for PE for a month, transferred over to another hospital.
New hospital diagnosed her with 3 broken ribs on left side.
Transferred to LTAC unit for recovery. She got worse. She went from 2-3 units of oxygen to 8 on a nose cannula.
Another Hematoma drained. Fluid appeared to have moved into her left lung. Have more CT scans avail.
Transferred to another LTAC to be rediagnosed. She went from 8 units to ventilator and could only sleep sitting straight up.

Still no diagnosis of ovarian cancer surrounding her lungs. I believe CA125 test were yielding 100.
Requested transfer to hospital whereby she went through 7.5 hour operation. Removed rib to access lung.
Decauterized left lung with 1 inch of scar tissue and drained anther hematoma.

I was informed that she had VRE (vancomycin-resistant enterococci)
She was in recovery for about another month when CA125 test began to yield 300+ results. They started treating her with chemo.
Her CA125 test inidcated a drop to 100 but returned to 300 after a month.
They changed chemo and it has only dropped tp 250 after 3 treatments. 3 Thoracentisis preformed yeilding about 1200-1400 cc of fluid each time.
They drained this from the right lung.

Recently her CA125 went from about 250 to 290 after her last treatment.
Note that an infection had reappeared and she was being treated with IV antibiotics again.

She is at St. Lukes, Houston.
They dont want to do a biopsy because of complications. They claim it may be too distressful for her.  They say that the fluid surrounding her lungs contains ovarian cancer cells. This was confirmed by her doctor yesterday.
He came in yesterday and I requested another CA125 test. The last one was taken while she had a fever.

Btw, thank you. Even a response from a doctor is a precious gift.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
dear Larry,
What a nightmare!

I am not clear on why she is receiving chemotherapy. Did she have a biopsy that showed cancer?
A lung infection can cause an elevated Ca 125.

Where is she being taken care of?
please let me know
take care
